Are you currently experiencing some obstacles right now? Would you like a hand to help guide you to some solutions? My goal as a Licensed Professional Counselor is to guide you towards solutions that are just right for you so that you can live a peaceful and serene life.
I earned my Advanced Certificate in Counseling in 2016, Master’s Degree in 1996, and Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 1992. All my degrees were earned at Virginia Commonwealth University. I am currently working on my Ph.D. in Counseling and Psychological Studies at Regent University.
I have worked with children and parents as a School Counselor in the public school system for 26 years. During that time, I worked with children to address school and behavior problems; grief and loss; anxiety; school phobia; anger management; self-esteem issues; trauma; ADHD; and other mental health disorders.
I also worked in a private practice setting for 2 and half years providing counseling services to children, teens, adults, and couples. For three years, I worked as an intensive in-home counselor and parenting coach providing numerous family sessions and utilizing a variety of approaches to assist clients and address mental health needs.
I have worked with a variety of diagnoses including conduct disorder, ADHD, autism, ODD, bipolar, anxiety, phobias, depression, and adjustment disorder. In counseling, I utilize a variety of therapy modalities (Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Personal-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Exposure Therapy).
